Disable Data Execution Prevention in XP

To disable Data Execution Prevention in Windows XP, do the following:

Disable DEP in XP:

DEP can be turned off only in your bootloader boot.ini. You can’t turn it off in the GUI, as you can see in the following screenshot:

Turn off DEP in GUI is not possible

To turn DEP off, click Start – Run – notepad.exe C:\boot.ini
This will open your boot.ini with Notepad. Now change /noexecute=optin to /noexecute=AlwaysOff
Reboot your computer and DEP will be disabled, as you can see in this screenshot:
