Your password will expire in 14 days. Do you want to change it now?

After you upgrade from Windows 98 or Windows ME to Windows XP, the following message may show up:

Your password will expire in 14 days. Do you want to change it now?

This message may show up, even if you have never set a password before. If you choose No, the next day you will get the message:

Your password will expire in 13 days. Do you want to change it now?

And the next day:

Your password will expire in 12 days. Do you want to change it now?

Oh well, you’ll get the message :)

To remove the password from your account, you should remove the password from the account. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, click Control Panel, double-click User Accounts
2. Double-click your name and click Create a password
3. Type your new password twice and click Create a password
4. Reboot your computer
5. Click Start, click Control Panel, double-click User Accounts
6. Double-click your name and click Remove the password
