  • shell:AppUpdatesFolder - Opens the Installed Windows Updates location in Program and Files.
  • shell:AppData - Opens the hidden location C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming

Disable Data Execution Prevention in Vista

vistalogoTo disable Data Execution Prevention in Windows Vista, do the following:

Disable DEP in Vista:

  1. Click Start
  2. Click All Programs
  3. Click Accessories
  4. Right Click on Command Prompt
  5. Left click on Run as Administrator
  6. Click the Allow button if it asks you for permission

devmgmt.msc: This file does not have a program associated

When trying to open the Device Manager (Control Panel - System and Maintenance - System), the following error may occur:

C:\Windows\System32\devmgmt.msc

This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Set Associations control panel.
