When all your appointments are gone in Outlook 2007 or Outlook 2003, this is probably the result of AutoArchive settings enabled. When you have turned on Auto Archiving, Outlook automatically archives all your calendar items, older than x months. Typically, Outlook saves your calendar items to archive.pst.

Howto: Disable PDFMaker toolbar in Outlook 2007 (PDFMOutlook.dll)
In Outlook 2007, Adobe PDFMaker may cause a lot trouble and frustration. In addition, many people don’t use the PDFMOutlook plugin. To be honest, I didn’t even know the PDFMaker toolbar existed in Outlook 2007 :)
Because of this, I decided to remove the PDFMOutlook toolbar completely. You can delete the PDFMOutlook toolbar in three ways:
Set default font in Outlook 2007 with registry
Outlook 2007’s default font is Calibri 11pt. If you want this to be different by default, you can do so in Tools -> Options -> Mail Format tab -> Editor settings.
If you’re a system administrator and you want the whole company to use the same font and size, every day, you have to set this in the registry of HKEY_CURRENT_USER. It’s not possible to set the default font in Outlook 2007 with a Group Policy (GPO). The Group Policy outlook12.adm does not support this.
Outlook 2007 crashes when hitting Reply, or Composing a New Message (PDFMOutlook.dll)
When googling for this problem, it seemed to be a very well-known unresolved problem, but oh well, maybe it’s valuable for somebody:
The messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem persists, restart outlook” in Outlook 2007
If you work with Outlook 2007 in combination with Exchange, you might get the following error when trying to open a shared calendar:
“The messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem persists, restart outlook“
To open the shared calendar anyway, you have to close and re-open Outlook. It will now work again (for a short while).
